Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Pilot - Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to join our Flight Test Department at Edwards AFB, CA. Put your flight test experience to work driving UAV test execution through key engineering milestones and briefs.

Remotely pilot during experimental and engineering test events, lead briefs/debriefs, and collaborate with maintenance and engineering to close vehicle discrepancies and refine test documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related professional/military experience (or Master's with 6 years, or Ph.D. with 4 years).
• Experience in flight test operations.
• FAA Commercial Multi & Single Engine instrument rating (or military equivalent) with current FAA Class II Medical.
• Minimum 500 hours of flight experience as PIC and instrument currency.
• Active US Government Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Remotely pilot UAV during experimental and engineering test events to verify specification compliance.
• Define, plan, organize and execute complex flight programs and flight test events.
• Lead briefs/debriefs and coordinate with maintenance to analyze and correct vehicle discrepancies.
• Support engineering with development of test plans, procedures, and test cards.
• Attend design reviews and flight readiness reviews and demonstrate vehicle performance when required.
