Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Pilot - UAV based at Edwards AFB, CA. You will lead UAV flight test execution, coordinate with maintenance and engineering, and drive test milestones from TIMs to FRR.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of flight test experience, FAA instrument rating, and a Top Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain SAP clearances as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science degree with 8+ years related professional experience, or Master’s with 6+ years, or Ph.D. with 4+ years.
• Experience in flight test operations.
• FAA Commercial Multi & Single Engine instrument rating; current FAA Class II Medical or higher.
• Minimum 500 flight hours as PIC and instrument currency.
• Occasional night/weekend shifts.
• Willingness to obtain required medical clearances and training per contract.
• Active US Government Top Secret clearance (BI within past 6 years or Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain SAP clearance and SAP PARs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Remotely pilots vehicle to determine compliance with specifications and operational suitability during test events.
• Define, plan, organize and execute complex flight programs and flight test events.
• Conduct briefings/debriefings and coordinate with maintenance to analyze and correct discrepancies.
• Support engineering with test plans, procedures and test cards.
• Attend technical reviews and flight readiness reviews.
• Demonstration flights with customers or officials as needed.
