Job summary

The United States Trustee Program (USTP) seeks an experienced Assistant United States Trustee to lead the San Francisco field office overseeing bankruptcy cases in the Oakland, San Francisco, and Santa Rosa Divisions of the Northern District of California.

Qualified applicants must have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, be an active state bar member, and have at least five years of post-J.D. experience in bankruptcy matters. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree (or equivalent) from an accredited law school and active state bar membership.
• Five or more years of post-J.D. legal experience in bankruptcy matters.
• Strong written and oral communication and superior judgment in a demanding legal environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the San Francisco field office and bankruptcy cases in the Oakland, San Francisco, and Santa Rosa Divisions.
• Advise the Executive Office on policy issues and develop strategies to implement uniform bankruptcy law.
• Supervise staff and coordinate national projects and training related to bankruptcy enforcement.
