Job summary

The Office of the U.S. Trustee seeks an Assistant United States Trustee to lead and manage the San Francisco, CA field office that oversees bankruptcy cases in the Oakland, San Francisco and Santa Rosa Divisions of the Northern District of California. In the alternative, applicants may lead the San Jose field office.

The position requires an active state bar membership, a J.D. from an accredited law school, and at least five years of post-J.D.

Qualifications

• Must be a lawyer with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in a demanding legal environment.
• Capable of functioning with minimal guidance in complex bankruptcy matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the San Francisco, CA field office overseeing bankruptcy cases in the Oakland, San Francisco and Santa Rosa Divisions of the Northern District of California.
• Alternatively, lead and manage the San Jose, CA field office overseeing bankruptcy cases in the San Jose Division.
