Job summary

The United States Trustee Program in Texas seeks an experienced Assistant United States Trustee to lead the San Antonio field office, overseeing bankruptcy cases across multiple divisions and districts.

The role requires supervising Trial Attorneys, Auditors, Paralegals, and staff; managing complex matters; and coordinating with federal/state partners. A strong record in bankruptcy enforcement and policy familiarity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the administration of the field office, including all bankruptcy cases filed in the judicial districts served by the office.
• Advise and partner with the Executive Office on policy questions, legal issues of national importance, and other significant matters.
• Supervise and manage a staff of Trial Attorneys, Auditors, Paralegals Specialists, and support staff.
• Oversee and assist in difficult, complex, or precedent-setting bankruptcy cases and civil enforcement strategies.
• Carry a caseload of civil enforcement, chapter 11, and trustee oversight matters.
• Participate in appellate matters before the Bankruptcy Court Appellate Panel, the US District Court, and Courts of Appeal.
• Appoint and supervise private trustees who administer bankruptcy cases under chapters 7, 13, and 12.
• Provide outreach to constituents involved in the bankruptcy system; public speaking and training as appropriate.
• Work with federal and state law enforcement partners to report criminal activity identified through bankruptcy case oversight.
• Work on other national projects and priorities as assigned.
