Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Programming Specialist to support programming operations across multiple networks. You will maintain schedules, manage metadata, work with listing services, and help drive programming initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in television programming and scheduling, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with SIMS and Excel. This is primarily an on-site role with some flexibility based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Broadcast Management, Media Studies, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in television programming, scheduling, programming operations, traffic, or related fields within a broadcast television environment.
• Working knowledge of SIMS programming and scheduling software.
• Strong understanding of television scheduling strategies, broadcast operations, and programming workflows.
• Experience managing programming metadata and maintaining schedule accuracy.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily, weekly, and long-range schedules across networks.
• Update SIMS schedules; enter episodic data and inventory.
• Coordinate premieres, marathons, stunts, specials, and schedule changes.
• Maintain programming metadata; relay updates to listings providers.
• Process FCC certifications and assist regulatory reporting.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts with multiple departments.
• Respond to viewer inquiries and support special projects.
