Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College seeks a Senior TV Engineer (IT Maintenance) to lead and perform complex maintenance of television broadcast IT systems, networks, and software essential to Milwaukee PBS operations.

The role includes integrating IT with broadcast workflows, supporting staff, and ensuring adherence to industry standards, with in-person work at Milwaukee PBS. Strong automation, troubleshooting, and training skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in television broadcast IT, TV engineering, or related field and at least five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in television broadcast IT/TV engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in television broadcast IT, TV engineering, or related field and at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible work experience in television broadcast IT/ TV engineering functions.
• Appropriate SBE (Society of Broadcast Engineers) certifications and/or IT certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Integrates broadcast IT with broadcast digital video, audio, equipment, and systems in a station environment.
• Manages and maintains editing workstations, servers, and production software to support Milwaukee PBS programming.
• Implements technical workflows and provides training and support to staff and students.
• Performs technical implementation of internet video/audio/data distribution including streaming and webcasting.
• Ensures compliance with FCC and broadcast technical standards.
