Job summary

Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington, DC, seeks a Senior Research Analyst/Fellow for its Turkey Program. The role reports to the Director of the Turkey Program and combines rigorous research with policy-oriented writing.

The successful candidate will conduct in-depth Turkey policy analysis, produce memos and op-eds, and engage with policymakers and stakeholders to inform U.S.-Turkey relations. This is a hybrid, full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in IR, political science, or economics.
• Strong research and analytic capabilities for Turkey's policy.
• Excellent writing for memos, op-eds, and briefs.
• Knowledge of Turkey's political, economic, and security landscape.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on Turkey's foreign and domestic policies and relations with the US and partners.
• Analyze implications of Turkish strategic initiatives for US policy.
• Produce memos, op-eds, and policy briefs with actionable insights.
• Collaborate with the Turkey Program team on research projects.
• Monitor developments in Turkey's political, economic, and security landscape and provide timely updates.
• Engage policymakers and stakeholders to disseminate findings and inform discourse.
• Assist in organizing events, conferences, and briefings related to Turkey's dynamics.
• Provide support to the Turkey Program director as needed.
