Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Senior Turbomachinery Engineer to act as the technical authority across development, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations. The role leads rotor dynamics and reliability programs while translating owner requirements into robust technical specifications and clear lifecycle decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering field.
• Minimum 7 years in turbomachinery operations or maintenance.
• Experience with rotor dynamics and high-speed rotating equipment.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to define requirements and evaluate designs with lifecycle cost focus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for turbomachinery across development, engineering, procurement, construction and operations.
• Define owner requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria for performance and reliability.
• Lead rotating equipment activities through COD, including design reviews and performance validation.
• Engage with OEMs and EPCs to balance risk, operability, reliability, and cost.
• Develop fleet-wide reliability and life-cycle management strategies.
• Interface with OEMs and suppliers to resolve issues and standardize solutions.
• Conduct due diligence and root-cause investigations for failures and trips.
