Job summary

Critical Energy in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own turbomachinery CAD models, layouts, and drawings from cradle to grave. You will collaborate across turbomachinery, fluids, electrical, and manufacturing teams to drive designs to production.

The role emphasizes a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, 5+ years with complex machinery, and hands-on CAD/FEA work using NX and ANSYS. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in mechanical design with complex machinery.
• Solid understanding of statics, dynamics, thermodynamics and materials science.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of turbomachinery CAD models, layout and drawings per ASME Y14.5.
• Integrate innovations with requirements from turbomachinery, fluids and controls teams.
• Perform hand calculations and FEA/CFD analyses to validate designs.
• Support fabrication, assembly and testing; address production issues.
• Assist Field Ops with technical guidance after delivery and gather feedback.
