Job summary

IBM is seeking a Data Scientist with Advanced Analytics to leverage deep data and analytics for ISR data and analytics services. You will design predictive models, manage polyglot data environments, and collaborate with clients and stakeholders in a security-cleared setting.

You will prototype end-to-end solutions using Python, R, and SQL, applying ML and statistical modeling to improve business outcomes. This onsite role is in the Washington DC area (Reston, VA).

Qualifications

• US citizen with active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in STEM fields.
• 4+ years of Python or Java programming experience.
• 4+ years of experience designing and programming applications in hybrid cloud or on-prem environments.
• Experience with employing, customizing, optimizing, and/or managing database technology and validating data.
• Experience with custom ETL development (e.g., Apache NiFi).
• Experience with designing algorithms to infer relationships between events or entities.
• Experience prototyping end-to-end solutions on quick timelines that enable consequential decisions, actions, or insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop Predictive Models: design and implement predictive models using optimization, simulation, and rules programming; use IBM CPLEX and Gurobi for optimization and SPSS, SAS, R, Python for analysis.
• Analyze Diverse Data: manage and analyze diverse data types using Python; tools include Pandas, NumPy, and Dask; visualize with Matplotlib/Seaborn/Plotly.
• Deliver Data-Driven Insights: apply machine learning and statistical modeling to forecast trends and optimize operations in domains like supply chain, pricing, risk, and fraud.
• Collaborate on Solution Delivery: work with teams to deliver data-driven solutions and ensure effective data management for decision-making.
• Maintain Technical Expertise: stay current with tools like Git/GitHub/GitLab and CI/CD with Docker/Podman/Jenkins.
