Job summary

Warner Norcross + Judd LLP seeks an experienced Attorney to join its Trusts + Estates Practice Group in one of its West Michigan offices (Grand Rapids, Holland, Kalamazoo, or Muskegon).

The role requires a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, Michigan bar admission, and 10+ years of estate planning, trust and estate settlement, and related tax/corporate matters in a law firm setting.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in estate planning, tax law, probate law, and trust law.
• Experience helping high net worth clients with estate planning and trusts.
• Excellent communication to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
• Active listening to align advice with client wishes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex financial and legal situations.
• Precision in drafting legal documents to reflect clients' intentions and comply with laws.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive estate plans tailored to clients' needs and goals.
• Advise clients on tax implications and strategies to minimize liabilities.
• Manage probate processes including court proceedings, asset valuation, and distributions.
• Administer and supervise trusts ensuring compliance with laws and trust agreements.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities with prospective clients.
