Job summary

Northern Trust Corp seeks a Senior Legal Counsel for the Trust Counsel Group in Florida. The role focuses on reviewing wills and trust documents, advising Wealth Management, and managing fiduciary risk within a hybrid work model across multiple Florida offices.

The candidate should have 10+ years of trust/estate experience, a JD, and Florida Bar admission, with strong drafting and negotiation skills and coordination with external counsel.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and high level of trust and estate knowledge.
• Broad experience in trusts, estates, guardianships, and transfer taxes.
• Ability to analyze complex fiduciary documents independently.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze wills and trust agreements to protect the bank and satisfy client expectations.
• Provide legal counsel to Wealth Management on trust and fiduciary matters.
• Advise committees on legal risk and compliance issues.
• Oversee trust and estate litigation when Northern Trust is fiduciary.
• Present educational content to internal partners and attend Bar meetings.
