Job summary

Marquette Bank is seeking a Trust Administration Officer to manage personal trust accounts, estates, and related fiduciary duties. You will interpret trust documents, coordinate onboarding with the New Business Officer, and serve as primary relationship manager for onboarded accounts.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or paralegal/ABA trust training, 5+ years in trust administration, and strong knowledge of fiduciary taxation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, paralegal certificate or ABA trust school graduate.
• 5+ years of experience in trust administration.
• Strong technical skills in fiduciary administration and knowledge of estate, gift, GST, and fiduciary income tax.
• Ability to review and interpret legal documents.
• Analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently.
• Excellent communication skills, including experience with new business presentations.
• Ability to collaborate with attorneys, CPAs, and caregiving agencies.

Responsibilities

• Administer personal trust accounts, including estates, trusts, guardianships, and agencies (including IRAs).
• Interpret trust documents and provisions accurately.
• Onboard new accounts with New Business Officer and engage with clients, attorneys, CPAs, and caregiving agencies.
• Serve as primary relationship manager for onboarded accounts and schedule annual client meetings.
• Collaborate with colleagues and manage post-death processes including tax IDs and distributions.
• Coordinate with courts and assist with Guardianship and Trust & Estate matters.
• Assist with department tax return process (1041/1040) and trust taxation implications.
• Oversee annual accounting and distribution documentation.
