The ideal candidate has 7+ years in security automation or DevOps, strong architectural judgment, and can own initiatives end-to-end as a technical authority and multiplier across teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and lead security automation platforms and workflows across Trust Office teams.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of automation solutions from discovery to maintenance.
• Develop Python-based automation services that integrate security tools and data sources at scale.
• Build advanced automation for vulnerability management, alert triage, enrichment, and remediation orchestration.
• Provide technical mentorship and code reviews for engineers contributing to automation initiatives.
• Define automation reliability standards including logging, monitoring, testing, and rollback mechanisms.

Job summary

We are seeking aSenior Trust Automation Engineerto lead the design, development, and evolution of automation across DigiCert’s Trust Office and Security Engineering functions. This role focuses onstrategic automation, reducing systemic manual effort, improving security decision quality, and enabling scalable, reliable operations through advanced orchestration, integrations, and AI-assisted workflows.

The ideal candidate has7+ years of experiencein security automation, security engineering, or DevOps, demonstrates strong architectural judgment, and can independently drive automation initiatives from problem discovery through production adoption. This role acts as atechnical authority and multiplier, influencing tooling, standards, and best practices across security teams.

What you will do

Primary Responsibilities and Competencies

• Architect, design, and leadsecurity automation platforms and workflows that materially reduce manual effort and operational risk across Trust Office teams
• Own theend-to-end lifecycleof automation solutions, from requirements discovery and design through implementation, rollout, and long-term maintenance
• Develop and reviewPython-based automation frameworksand services that integrate security tools, APIs, and internal data sources at scale
• Build and evolve advanced automation for vulnerability management, alert triage, enrichment, decisioning, remediation orchestration, reporting, and audit evidence generation
• Serve as a technical partner and advisor to Security, Compliance, Standards, and Platform Operations teams.
• Identify, prioritize, and justifyhigh-impact automation opportunities, balancing risk reduction, efficiency gains, and engineering effort
• Design and implementAI/LLM-assisted security automation(e.g., enrichment, summarization, classification, decision support) with strong governance, validation, and security guardrails
• Define and enforceautomation reliability standards, including logging, monitoring, testing strategies, error handling, and rollback mechanisms
• Drive integration and orchestration patterns across SIEMs, ticketing systems, cloud services, and internal platforms
• Produce and maintainarchitecture documentation, runbooks, and technical standardsto ensure scalability, consistency, and knowledge sharing
• Providetechnical mentorship and code reviewfor other engineers contributing to automation initiatives

What you will have

• 7+ yearsof experience in security engineering, automation engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps
• Deep proficiency inPython, API design, and large-scale system integrations
• Proven experiencearchitecting and operating security automationin production environments
• Practical, production experience integratingAI or LLM capabilitiesinto automated workflows with appropriate controls
• Advanced experience withGit, CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and release management

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep experience with SIEM platforms such asSplunk, including data modeling and alerting strategies
• Strong familiarity withAWS or other cloud platforms, including IAM, logging, and security services
• Experience designing automation that integrates withJira, ServiceNow, or similar ITSM platformsat scale
• Experience operating inhighly regulated environments(SOC 2, ISO 27001, WebTrust) and automating audit and compliance workflows
• Prior experience acting as atechnical lead or domain expertfor security automation or SOAR initiatives
