Job summary

Career Consulting Partners, in partnership with a major Los Angeles defense firm, seeks an experienced Trusts & Estates attorney for the Private Client Group as a Senior Associate or Senior Counsel. You will manage a sophisticated estate planning and trust administration workload and lead a small team, with a clear path to broader leadership within the Firm.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in Trusts & Estates, strong drafting and client communication, and a CA Bar license.

Qualifications

• JD and active CA Bar membership in good standing.
• 8+ years of Trusts & Estates experience with substantial Private Client work (estate planning, trust administration, wealth transfer).
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or managing junior attorneys.
• Consistent track record of meeting high billable-hour expectations.
• Excellent drafting skills and client communication.
• Preferred: LL.M. in Taxation; California Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law; experience with high-net-worth clients.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed an annual billable target of 1,800+ hours.
• Lead, develop, and manage a team of 2-5 Associates, including assigning work, reviewing drafts, training, and providing ongoing feedback.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to individuals, families, family offices, fiduciaries, and closely held business owners.
• Contribute to the growth of the Private Client Group and step into greater leadership responsibility with the Firm.

Career Consulting Partners has partnered with one of Los Angeles County's largest defense firms. We are seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates attorney to join its Private Client Group as a Senior Associate or Senior Counsel. This role combines a substantive practice with people leadership.

You will receive matters directly from Partners, manage a sophisticated estate planning and trust administration workload, and lead a small team of associates, with a clear path to grow into a larger leadership role within the Firm.
