Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Senior Sanitation Truck Driver to operate an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer for refuse and recycling transport within Dallas city limits. You will also operate landfill equipment to keep streets clean and provide leadership and training to teammates.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of tractor-trailer experience, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and a Class A CDL (or obtain it within probation).

Qualifications

• Two years of experience operating tractor-trailers.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; CDL Class A required (or obtained within probation).
• Background check clearance required.

Job Summary

The Senior Sanitation Truck Driver operates an 18 wheeler tractor-trailer truck to transport refuse, recycling, equipment, or other materials to locations within city limits. Operates various pieces of heavy equipment on the city’s landfill to ensure that the streets and alleyways of Dallas are clean and free of trash and provides leadership, coaching, and training to co-workers and teammates.

Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.

Experience

• Two (2) years of experience operating tractor- trailers.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at time of application or must obtain within probationary period. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at time of application or must obtain within probationary period.
• Applicants with a Class A CDL, issued by a state other than Texas, must obtain a Texas Class A CDL within probationary period.
• Must pass background check.

Other Requirements

• Subject to twenty-four/seven (24/7) call-out.
• Subject to inclement weather and toxic materials.
• Availability to work various shifts (days, evenings, nights).

Salary Range

$24.39 - $27.71
