Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, or related field with 4 years verifiable experience in psychology, criminal justice, social work, or social service-related field.
  • 2 years' experience in victim services and/or 4 years verifiable experience in psychology, criminal justice, social work, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provides immediate and on-going assistance to Native American victims of crime including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and elder abuse in the Northeast Kansas area.
  • Conducts phone and in-person assessments, provides referrals and case management services to victims; advocates through support, information and assistance to victims as their case moves through the criminal justice process and beyond.
  • Assists with planning and carrying out educational and outreach events; develops, maintains and works cooperatively within the program, department, community, Nation and service area to reduce the impact of domestic violence in tribal communities and to improve tribal and non-tribal systems and agency responses to victims of crime.
