The successful candidate will have 15+ years of Illinois workers’ compensation experience, a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, and proven trial, research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Extensive litigation experience (7+ years for the Trial Attorney; 15+ years for the Senior Trial Attorney).
• Minimum 7+ years of Illinois workers’ compensation experience.
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Strong trial, research, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently represent clients in workers’ compensation matters before the court.
• Develop and execute defense strategies based on legal and factual analysis.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
• Manage all aspects of litigation, including trials and appeals.
• Communicate effectively with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Provide timely legal advice and case updates.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
• Ensure efficient and timely resolution of assigned cases.
• Assist in developing training materials and presenting to internal teams.
• Maintain compliance with professional standards and ethical guidelines.
• Travel (approximately 20%) as needed for court appearances, depositions, and meetings.
• Stay current with legal developments through continuing education.

A highly regarded insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Senior Trial Attorney in Chicago, Illinois. This position is hybrid: two days onsite; three days remote with travel for legal proceedings and related matters. Base salary is $133K-$185K with a 15% bonus and long-term incentive compensation. Primary Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for the defense of a wide range of workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution. The position requires exceptional client communication skills, documented trial skills as well as the ability to report and respond to the carrier with insight and timeliness. Additional duties include the following:

Requirements
