Job Description

The Senior Trial Attorney represents insureds and the Company in defending bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation, and Allstate Financial cases. The role involves preparing for and conducting hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct depositions and examinations under oath; prepare summary documents.
2. Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials, including expert witnesses.
3. Update claim business partners on case status, litigation plans, and strategies.
4. Contact clients to discuss cases and answer questions.
5. Review new files, evidence, and approve pleadings; develop strategies.
6. Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation as appropriate.
7. Draft post-trial motions.
8. Try and arbitrate cases, prepare motions, and conduct settlement proceedings.
9. Manage court appearances such as conferences and hearings.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
• Juris Doctor (Required)
• 5+ years of experience

• Strong legal research, writing, and analysis skills.
• Effective time management and organization.
• Excellent communication with clients and team members.
• Knowledge of legal ethics and professional conduct.

• Must be within commuting distance to courthouses in greater Detroit.
