Job summary

Allstate is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney to defend insureds and the Company in bodily injury and property damage cases, handling mediations, arbitrations, and occasional trials while coordinating with legal teams. You will stay ahead of evolving laws and provide strategic counsel to business clients.

In this role you will monitor new laws, manage calendars, supervise staff, and collaborate with attorneys and paralegals.

Qualifications

4+ years of proven litigation experience or strong litigation-type skills.
Ability to manage complex disputes and work under pressure.
First or second chair jury trial experience preferred.
Proven experience with insurance defense preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LexisNexis, and internet research.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative assistants.
Capacity to manage a substantial caseload.
Willingness to travel throughout Arizona for court appearances.

Responsibilities

Represents insured individuals and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation, and Allstate Financial cases.
Prepares thoroughly for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
Prepares and presents pre- and post-trial motions effectively.
Assists colleagues in resolving calendar conflicts in a collaborative manner.
Offers counsel to business clients on day-to-day legal matters.
Manages projects efficiently, fostering coordination and collaboration among legal teams.
Keeps abreast of and evaluates new laws, regulations, and case law; identifies and summarizes relevant issues; collaborates with other areas of the Law and Regulation (L&R) department; provides proactive advice and counsel to business units on the impact of new laws; monitors legal representation.
