Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney to lead complex, high-risk litigation with extensive trial experience. You will manage all stages from filing to verdict, supervise evidence collection, and draft dispositive motions while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active California State Bar in good standing.
• 5–7 years of insurance defense litigation with a trial record.
• Demonstrated first-chair jury trial experience in auto, liability, and premises matters.
• Experience handling high-exposure cases through verdict with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills and independent case strategy drive.

Job Details

Responsibilities

• Lead the evaluation and strategic direction of complex, high-exposure lawsuits, leveraging deep litigation expertise to develop and execute aggressive defense strategies
• Independently manage all phases of litigation from inception through verdict, including complex multi-party cases and high-stakes trials
• Direct evidence collection, retention of experts, and preparation of compelling motions, including dispositive motions and motions in limine
• Serve as first-chair trial counsel in jury and bench trials, arbitrations, mediations, and appellate proceedings
• Provide authoritative legal opinions and strategic recommendations to senior claims leadership and policyholders on complex coverage and liability matters
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys and support staff on litigation strategy and best practices
• Lead negotiation and settlement strategy on significant exposure cases, exercising independent judgment on valuation and resolution

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
• Minimum 5–7 years of insurance defense litigation experience with a proven trial record
• Demonstrated first-chair jury trial experience in automOur Clientle liability, personal injury, and premises liability matters
• Extensive experience handling complex, high-exposure cases through verdict
• Track record of managing a demanding, high-volume caseload with minimal supervision
• Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills, including experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions
• Strong leadership presence and ability to independently drive case strategy from assignment through resolution
