Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Funding and Liquidity Portfolio Manager within the Finance Division to lead debt structuring, issuance, and liquidity management in support of the university’s financial strategy.

The role requires a strong background in capital markets, risk management, and cross-functional leadership, with a focus on ensuring compliance and robust financial stewardship across the university’s balance sheet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA or CFA preferred.
• Eight+ years of progressive professional experience in asset management, banking, finance or capital markets.
• Experience building quantitative finance models and data analytics for decision making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee debt management including tax-exempt and taxable bonds, commercial paper, and bank lines of credit.
• Lead debt issuance from contemplation to execution using university guidelines.
• Manage liquidity portfolio, money market trading, risk analytics and portfolio reporting.
• Lead annual credit rating reviews with S&P and Moody's; collaborate with Investment Office.
