UChicago Medicine is seeking an Executive Director, Treasury and Debt Management to lead debt issuance, cash management, and treasury operations. The role emphasizes strategic financial stewardship, risk management, and timely reporting to the Treasurer and treasury team.

The candidate should bring a decade of treasury leadership, deep knowledge of debt and credit markets, and a track record of process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field is required; MBA or Master's preferred
• CTP certification is preferred
• Minimum of ten years in treasury with financing transactions and cash management, with leadership experience
• Familiarity with GAAP and interest in AI applications to enhance treasury analytics
• Expert knowledge of credit markets, tax-exempt and taxable debt structures, derivatives
• Deep understanding of tax-exempt debt compliance and reporting
• Experience with banking and cash management best practices and cash flow analysis
• Strong quantitative, modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication for internal and external partners
• Ability to reconcile data from multiple sources and interpret financing agreements
• Skilled at managing multiple projects with organized processes and mission focus

Responsibilities

• Manage debt issuances, banking transactions, and leasing facilities
• Track financial markets to assess cost of capital and manage risk
• Develop financing plans and lease strategies for real property and equipment
• Draft presentations for the board, rating agencies and investors
• Review debt documents and ensure compliance and reporting
• Oversee debt payments and post-issuance compliance
• Lead treasury policy development and process improvements with AI/analytics
• Collaborate with bankers, advisors, and trustees to ensure quality services
• Provide dashboards and executive reporting on financial performance
