Job summary

Larimer County's Treasurer & Public Trustee office seeks a Senior Treasurer's Technician to join the front counter team in Fort Collins. You will assist walk-in taxpayers, perform head cashier duties, and provide five-star customer service in a busy office.

The role requires cash handling, processing tax payments, daily deposits, and researching records. The schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no remote work.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities in a Treasurer's Office required.
• High School diploma or GED, supplemented by basic bookkeeping courses required.

Responsibilities

• Preparing daily deposit for the Office; encodes checks; processes and posts checks; verifies deposits from other County departments; maintains check files and records.
• Receiving tax payments, answering taxpayer questions, providing reports, balancing daily receipts, and researching returned mail problems.
• Calculating taxes, including fees, interest, and related charges to the taxpayer.
• Researching names, addresses, and ownership in public records to respond to inquiries.
• Preparing and processing certificates of tax due, including mobile/manufactured home and permits.
• Processing other Treasurer's transactions, including redemptions and account balancing.
• Processing tax-roll corrections, abatements, and refunds from the Assessor's Office.

Supplemental information

Please note that the starting pay for this position is $24.08 - $25.28/hour
