Job summary

BCD Travel in the United States is seeking a Senior Travel Agent to deliver high-touch service to key client travelers, managing requests across phone and email and supporting training programs.

The role is remote in NOAM with strong focus on travel policy, regulations, and cost-conscious recommendations. You’ll need extensive agency experience, Amadeus GDS proficiency, and sharp organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a travel agent.
• Advanced skills in Amadeus GDS.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Working knowledge of the travel industry, policies, procedures, and processes.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Proficient with Excel and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Search and confirm travel reservations for the customer.
• Understand client travel policy and provide consultations.
• Handle requests regarding regulations (DOT, TSA, passports, visas).
• Provide required industry information (low fares, exchange costs, penalties).
• Review operational processes and client relationships for improvements.
• Maintain and expand knowledge of travel industries supported.

Senior Travel Agent (Remote)

As a Senior Travel Consultant, you are the face of our company. You’ll communicate and respond to requests for current and new clients, helping them travel smart and achieve more. Do you communicate effortlessly and have customer service at heart? – Read on!

In this role, you will perform high-touch service excellence to key client travelers and be responsible for accurately and efficiently handling incoming requests via multiple channels (i.e. phone, email, etc.). You will also support specialized customer training programs and group air fulfillment.

As a Senior Travel Agent, you will

• Search and confirm travel reservations for the customer
• Have a strong understanding of a client travel policy and can consistently provide consultation to the customer
• Fulfill all requests regarding necessary regulations (DOT, TSA, passports, visas, etc.)
• Provide the client with the required industry information, such as low fares, exchange costs, and penalties
• Seek opportunities to review operational processes and commercial relationships with client to provide suggestions for improvement
• Maintain, actively communicate, and seek expansion of current knowledge of the state of the various travel industries supported

About you

• Extensive experience as a travel agent
• Advanced skills in GDS Amadeus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Working knowledge of the travel industry, policies, procedures, and processes
• Highly organized and detail oriented
