Job summary

Benesch Alfred & Co. seeks an experienced Transportation Project Manager in Michigan. This role focuses on roadway, highway, and civil site design within our Michigan Transportation group.

You will lead design efforts, manage client relationships, and guide teams from concept to construction. The position requires a PE license, 10+ years working on MDOT projects, and proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience designing and delivering Michigan transportation (MDOT) projects.
• Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience as project manager or lead roadway engineer on MDOT projects.
• Proficient with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams and manage delivery across roadway, highway, and civil site design projects.
• Develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates in collaboration with design and review teams.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure quality, schedule, and budgets.
• Cultivate client relationships with state, county, and municipal agencies and maintain ongoing communication.
• Oversee projects from preliminary through final design stages and ensure compliance with MDOT standards.
