This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Project Manager to join us in our St. Louis, Missouri office.

WSP continues to grow our Missouri market, and you will work with both the local and regional offices to continue this exciting trend. The local and regional group is a dynamic and energetic team with strong work ethics and a culture of collaboration and camaraderie. You would be joining one of the largest and best transportation design firms in the nation. Projects are diverse, interesting, and challenging.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for transportation projects across Missouri in both urban and rural settings. Your responsibilities include managing task leaders, schedules, budgets, and client expectations across projects such as interstate system expansions and urban reconstruction. You will participate in technical concept formulation and presentation during proposal development, design, and client meetings. Additionally, you will mentor and guide junior staff, contribute to team growth, and have opportunities to develop your career. This role offers a chance to enhance your design skills, build relationships within WSP, and expand your regional client experience.

Duties and Responsibilities Include
  • Managing projects and teams to deliver quality results.
  • Handling contract and financial management.
  • Staffing civil projects and ensuring utilization.
  • Supporting market growth through marketing, proposals, and business development.
  • Creating an innovative, opportunity-driven, and supportive work environment.
  • Recruiting, retaining, and developing top talent.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive civil/transportation engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer registration in Missouri or ability to obtain within three months.
  • Responsible decision-making and adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and compliance with safety policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership experience with civil engineering staff.
  • Successful project management background.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • Experience with MoDOT, City of St. Louis, and other municipalities.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO and Missouri DOT standards.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation, Geopak, and OpenRoads software.
  • Ability to contribute to marketing and business development.
  • Strong skills in engineering deliverables development.
  • Independent judgment in applying engineering techniques.
  • Experience with alternative delivery projects is a plus.
