Job summary

VHB’s Pennsylvania team is looking for a Senior Transportation Engineering Manager to join our Transportation Department, with the option to work from Lansdale, Philadelphia, or Camp Hill offices.

The role blends project management, technical leadership, and staff development, focusing on PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and complex government transportation projects. It offers a collaborative, hybrid work environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, transportation planning or similar discipline.
• 11-15+ years of professional transportation engineering experience, with at least 10 years in PA market.
• PA Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proven success in transportation or state/local government markets.
• Experience with MD, DVRPC, City of Philadelphia is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Project Manager for federal, state, and local clients, including PennDOT and PA Turnpike.
• Develop and manage client relationships.
• Manage staff, and provide technical and professional development of staff.
• Assist with strategy for expansion of transportation services in Pennsylvania.
• Monitor project financial performance.
• Lead meetings with clients, agencies, and stakeholders on traffic analysis and design/permitting issues.
• Execute scope for transportation design projects from feasibility to PS&E packages.
• Develop new project opportunities and manage proposals.
