Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a motivated Transportation Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation team. This role focuses on planning, design, and delivery of highway and local roadway projects for public sector clients, including state DOTs, counties, and municipalities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license required or able to obtain within 6 months if already licensed in another state.
• 5–15+ years of experience in transportation/ roadway engineering design.
• Proficiency in roadway design software including MicroStation, Synchro, ArcGIS.
• Strong understanding of AASHTO design guidelines and state DOT standards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the geometric design of highways, arterials, collectors, and local roadways.
• Prepare detailed construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E).
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, typical sections, and cross sections.
• Perform drainage design coordination and grading tied to roadway improvements.
• Utilize design software to produce 3D roadway models and plan sets.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including traffic, drainage, utilities, geotechnical, and structures.
• Ensure designs comply with AASHTO, MUTCD, and applicable state/local DOT standards.
• Support client coordination, project scheduling, and task management.
• Review plans and calculations for quality assurance and adherence to standards.
• Provide construction support, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination.
