Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of Transportation Projects across the firm. In this role, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers and project managers on exciting projects of all delivery types, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3, and other Alternative Delivery Transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Eight+ years of transportation infrastructure design experience.
• Active PE license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• ORD proficiency for roadway design and modeling.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork.
• Familiarity with DOT standards and procedures across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support technical design on transportation projects including highways, interchanges, tollways, transit corridors.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices to develop design solutions.
• Serve as technical liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, stakeholders.
• Develop and review plans, specs, cost estimates, and design reports using ORD.
• Participate in proposals, design-build pursuits, and presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support career development.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Stay informed about industry trends and alternative delivery methods.
