Job summary

HDR, an employee-owned firm, seeks a Senior Transportation Project Accountant to oversee project controls, cost plans and budgeting for transportation infrastructure programs.

You will prepare detailed analyses, manage client invoicing, contracts and monthly variance reporting while mentoring junior staff in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. HDR emphasizes ownership and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a closely related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience; advanced degree may offset years.
• Ability to build and status schedules, cost plans, spend plans within project controls tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook.
• Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed analysis and reporting on project status within an established system of project controls.
• Work autonomously on client invoicing, collections management and project budgeting.
• Accurately contract documentation, administration and maintenance, including fee and budget entry.
• Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and work with technical staff to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Supervise and mentor junior project accountants as needed.
• Complete tasks autonomously; perform other duties as needed.
