North Country Council Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner for a full-time, hybrid role based in Littleton, NH, with some work-from-home flexibility.

You will lead multimodal corridor studies, regional transportation plans, and safety analyses, while collaborating with local officials and stakeholders. The role involves data analysis, mapping, preparing technical memoranda, and developing policy recommendations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Regional Planning and Transportation Planning, including multimodal systems, safety, and mobility initiatives.
• Knowledge of Land Use and Urban Planning principles, with ability to integrate transportation into broader development efforts.
• Strong Analytical Skills, including data collection, GIS mapping, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and translating findings into recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience preparing reports, grant proposals, and presentations to diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with partners, and work in a hybrid environment.
• Proficiency with GIS and MS Office; transportation modeling or data platforms are a plus.
• Bachelor’s or higher in Planning, Transportation, Urban Studies, Civil Engineering, Geography, or related field; master’s preferred.
• Familiarity with state and federal transportation planning processes, funding programs, and regulatory requirements is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage transportation planning projects, including multimodal corridor studies and regional transportation plans.
• Gather and analyze transportation and land use data; prepare maps and reports; draft technical memoranda.
• Develop recommendations for infrastructure and policy improvements; prepare grant applications and funding program materials.
• Engage with local officials, state agencies, and community stakeholders through meetings, presentations, and public involvement activities.
• Mentor junior staff on transportation planning methods and best practices; ensure regulatory compliance.
