Job summary

OTHON in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer/Planner to lead corridor, mobility, safety, and multimodal studies within the Transportation Planning and Data Analytics group. You will conduct data analysis, travel demand modeling support, and prepare technical reports for TxDOT, MPOs, and public agencies.

The role requires 10 years of experience, PE or AICP certification, and proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, TransCAD/Cube, and Python for GIS workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation or Civil Engineering, Urban/Regional Planning or related field; master’s preferred.
• 10 years of relevant experience with TxDOT, MPOs, or public-sector agencies.
• PE or AICP certification.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and data handling; map layouts and symbology.
• Experience with travel demand modeling tools like TransCAD or Cube.
• Strong writing and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead corridor, mobility, safety, and multimodal planning studies.
• Conduct data collection, origin-destination, GIS analysis, and crash/safety analyses.
• Develop traffic projections and support travel demand modeling.
• Prepare benefit-cost analyses, funding and grant applications; support agency coordination.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and client recommendations; mentor junior staff.
