Job summary

A leading national law firm in Houston is seeking a Senior Transportation Litigation Attorney to join its office. The role handles sophisticated transportation and logistics matters for major national and international clients, with a flexible hybrid schedule and significant responsibility on high-profile matters.

You will manage cases from inception through resolution, conduct regulatory research, draft pleadings, and participate in depositions and court hearings.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in Texas.
• Approximately 8+ years of litigation experience, ideally in general casualty, transportation, or commercial litigation.
• First or second chair trial experience strongly preferred.
• Trial experience required.
• Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and case management.
• Transportation, logistics, trucking, or related regulatory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with emerging e-commerce and gig-economy legal issues is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and analysis relating to transportation law, regulatory issues, and casualty litigation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
• Attend and defend depositions, court hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
• Develop case strategy and assist with trial preparation and trial work.
• Negotiate settlements and resolutions on behalf of clients.
• Prepare case assessments and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices and practice groups on complex matters.
