Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Hydraulics Engineer in Tampa, FL to lead a multidisciplinary hydraulics and water resources design team. You will provide strategic direction for projects ranging from small enhancements to large, complex programs, ensuring schedules, budgets and regulatory compliance are met.

Responsibilities include overseeing technical delivery, mentoring staff, leading design reviews, and contributing to business development with clients and proposals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in water resources or related discipline.
• Strong leadership, planning, mentoring and staff management.
• Project experience and relationships with local DOT and municipal clients.
• Advanced knowledge of stormwater engineering concepts and H&H modeling programs and ArcGIS.
• Ability to work in the office for collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical project delivery with profitability focus and quality control.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and manage staff for professional growth.
• Lead a multidisciplinary hydraulics and water resources design team.
• Provide strategic direction for infrastructure projects from small to large.
• Lead design and delivery: scope, budgeting, scheduling, client coordination.
• Prepare and review hydraulic design deliverables including analyses and permits.
• Collaborate with clients and teams to maintain schedules and budgets.
• Represent the organization in QA/QC and professional forums.
