Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Richmond, VA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our Transportation Planning and Traffic team. This is not a remote position, and you will work on a variety of transportation planning, traffic engineering, safety, and ITS projects for diverse clients.

You will lead projects, mentor staff, help grow the practice, and contribute to marketing and business development.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering and design, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design.
• PE license (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Proficiency in Synchro, HCS, and/or Vissim.
• Ability to work in a team, balance priorities, and communicate at all levels.
• Ability to mentor staff and direct resources effectively.
• Provide high-quality deliverables with exceptional client service.
• Business development and marketing experience including proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering and project management tasks for transportation planning, transit, traffic engineering, safety, and ITS projects for diverse clients.
• Demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and contribute to growth of the transportation engineering practice.
• Manage projects profitably and mentor staff while delivering quality results.
• Contribute to marketing and business development efforts and pursue own leads and clients.
• Collaborate with engineers, jurisdictions, and contractors on various projects.
• Build internal and external professional relationships.
• Work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects.
