Washington State Department of Transportation in Washington State seeks a Transportation Engineer 4 to serve as the North Central Region ITS Operations Engineer. You will lead signal timing, ITS integration, and operations optimization across multiple jurisdictions, coordinating with maintenance, IT, and engineering teams to improve safety and traffic flow.

Responsibilities include reviewing designs, developing timing plans, and implementing innovative technologies while advancing TSMO

Formación

• Deep knowledge of traffic engineering principles and signal operations.
• Proven experience in design, development, and maintenance of Traffic Signal and ITS.
• Familiarity with network protocols and IT technology standards.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, review, and implement traffic signal timing plans and coordination strategies.
• Evaluate and approve timing plans; resolve complex signal engineering issues.
• Review signal designs for compliance with standards and specs.
• Coordinate with agencies and stakeholders to support operations and events.
• Monitor and maintain ITS equipment and networks; coordinate maintenance.
• Develop and implement TSMO strategies and integrate new tech into projects.
• Support TMC operations by monitoring performance and adjusting as needed.
• Provide technical expertise across signal, ITS, and network systems.
