Job summary

The City of West Jordan is seeking a seasoned Civil Engineer to oversee traffic and transportation functions, review plans, and manage capital projects. You will respond to inquiries and coordinate with consultants and staff to ensure compliance with city standards and regulations.

Ideal candidates hold a Utah P.E. license, have extensive municipal transportation experience, and will lead project teams through planning, design, and construction phases while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• Eight years of technical engineering experience required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license issued by the State of Utah required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager on assigned projects; oversee staff; prepare plans and estimates.
• Coordinate development reviews and reports for committees, Planning Commission, and City Council.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations at program and project levels.
• Develop and oversee construction plans and specifications; manage consultant services.
