Job summary

Fishbeck in Columbus, OH is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead transportation and traffic projects, manage scopes and budgets, and mentor engineers. You will build relationships with the City of Columbus and regional agencies while pursuing new work and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years in transportation engineering or related field.
• Experience with ODOT/local agency projects.
• Proven project management experience.
• Experience developing client relationships and pursuing new work.
• Experience preparing proposals and funding applications.
• Mentoring junior engineers and project managers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with clients and teams.
• Self-motivated with commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage transportation and traffic projects for ODOT, local agencies, and other clients.
• Serve as project manager or task leader, overseeing scope, schedules, budgets, and technical delivery.
• Support traffic engineering efforts, reviewing studies, analyses, and reports.
• Develop and maintain relationships with City of Columbus and regional agencies.
• Identify and pursue new transportation opportunities throughout Columbus and Ohio.
• Lead and support project pursuits, including proposals and client interviews.
• Identify funding sources and assist with grant applications.
• Build relationships with developers and provide transportation services.
• Collaborate across departments for client development and cross-marketing.
• Develop partnerships with regional and national firms for pursuits.
• Support business development planning for Columbus and Ohio.
• Mentor engineers and project managers; support recruiting and growth.
• Represent Fishbeck at client events and professional organizations in Columbus.
