Job Responsibilities

1. Employ fundamental principles including all aspects of Highway Design, Utility Coordination (including relocation and agreements), Cost Estimating, and Transportation Engineering while using applicable MicroStation (preferred) and/or AutoCAD design software.
2. Produce plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimates for roadway projects for NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ, and County or Municipal agencies.
3. Handle Geometric Design, Design Exceptions, Roadside Design including current Guide Rail Design, Pavement Design, MPT, Signing and Striping, ROW, Access Management, Grading, Permitting, Utility Coordination and Relocations, Utility Risk Analysis, and Utility Schemes of Accommodation.
4. Design Roadway Drainage and create 3D Roadway Models.

Minimum Requirements

1. Knowledge of NJDOT Capital Project Procedures, NJDOT/NJTA/AASHTO Roadway Design Manual/Standard Specifications, MUTCD, NEPA Process, Monitoring Budgets, and Primavera Scheduling.
2. Strong design capabilities with MicroStation Inroads, including working with alignments, surfaces, templates, earthwork, plans, and quantity calculations.

The pay range for this position is $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year.
