The Senior Logistics Coordinator is responsible for transportation load planning and order management prior to shipment, as well as managing specialized recovery and ensuring on-time delivery.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Responsibilities:
- Execute product transportation efficiently and effectively by leveraging available tools and processes to surpass service expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer service, carriers, facilities, and deployment, while maintaining a professional demeanor in all forms of communication (in-person, phone, email, meetings, etc.).
- Demonstrate initiative and make informed decisions independently, considering customer needs, facility requirements, and carrier capacity, while escalating issues as necessary.
- Support the Nestlé Operational Master Plan, Continuous Excellence Initiatives, and Continuous Process Improvement efforts.
- Address and resolve conflicts and discrepancies in a positive, professional, and timely manner.
Functional Duties for Planning:
- Manage planning anomalies and analyze non-routine problems to understand underlying issues.
- Conduct final validation of plans and maintain accurate data.
- Establish connections between appointments and transit times.
- Create fully optimized freight orders.
- Perform initial carrier selection and manage exceptions (including order changes, rush requests, and accessorial validation).
- Oversee day-to-day carrier management.
Functional Duties for Service:
- Manage on-time pick-up and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments in transit and identify potential risks for mitigation.
- Maintain accurate date and appointment management.
- Handle exceptions.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Foster strong working relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Communicate daily regarding successes and areas for improvement.
- Engage in continuous education regarding Transportation and Supply Chain practices.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other assigned tasks, which may include attending meetings, participating in projects, traveling, and undergoing training, all aimed at maximizing value for Nestlé.
EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, with a college education preferred.
- Requires a professional approach to internal and external customers.
- Transportation and/or logistics experience preferred
- Experience in a tactical and fast-paced office environment
