Job summary

Nestlé Purina North America is seeking a Senior Manager Engineering Logistics to set the strategic direction for automated material handling systems (AMHS) within the U.S. network and lead startups for ASRS, monorails, robotics, and other automated assets.

You will guide standards development for design, training and startup execution, and communicate plans and results to executive leadership while collaborating with vendors and factory stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline with 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry including maintenance, operations and capital project responsibilities.
  • 3+ years leading physical logistics engineering including automated warehouse operations and automated material handling systems.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with 12+ years of experience including maintenance, operations and capital project responsibilities and 5+ years leading physical logistics engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of subject matter experts to design, execute and standardize startup of AMHS.
  • Sustain AMHS performance at current facilities through best practices and proactive improvements.
  • Develop and deploy physical logistics equipment maintenance strategies and monitor performance.
  • Facilitate and prioritize process improvement efforts aligned with Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) goals.
  • Define and communicate strategy and plans with Supply Chain and Engineering stakeholders to expedite project transitions.
  • Ensure warehouse physical logistics compliance with Nestlé standards and maintain hygienic engineering practices.

As Senior Manager Engineering Logistics, you will establish and execute the strategic direction for automated material handling systems (AMHS) within the Nestlé and Nestlé Purina U.S. network. Through your collaboration with technical experts, vendors and factory stakeholders, you will develop vertical startup and sustainment programs for automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), monorails, robotics and other automated logistics assets.   • Lead a team of subject matter experts to design, execute and standardize startup of AMHS
  • Sustain AMHS performance at current facilities through application of best practices and ways of working to proactively identify opportunities and determine corrective measures
  • Develop and deploy physical logistics equipment maintenance strategies, monitor and report performance, and ensure technical requirements are met, documented, trained and sustained
  • Facilitate and prioritize process improvement efforts for teams and factories with a focus on Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE,) goal alignment, and coordination with parallel Nestlé initiatives
  • Define and clearly communicate strategy and plans with key stakeholders in Supply Chain and Engineering to expedite smooth project transitions
  • Ensure warehouse physical logistics compliance with all applicable Nestlé standards and guidelines and prioritize food safety and hygienic engineering while optimizing efficiency
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline with 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry including maintenance, operations and capital project responsibilities –AND– 3+ years leading physical logistics engineering including automated warehouse operations and automated material handling systems
OR
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with 12+ years of experience in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry including maintenance, operations and capital project responsibilities –AND– 5+ years leading physical logistics engineering including automated warehouse operations and automated material handling systems
Other
  • Must be willing to travel 50%-75% based on business needs

The approximate pay range for this position is $150,000 - $199,000 per year. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
