Job summary

Consor is seeking a Senior Transportation Construction Inspector to support major transportation projects in the Portland metropolitan area. You will provide extensive field inspection oversight for roadways, bridges, transit facilities, and utilities, ensuring compliance with plans, specs, safety, and standards.

Salary: $70k-$120k. You'll coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors, maintain detailed field records, and contribute to change orders and project closeout.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate/bachelor degree preferred in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of construction inspection experience on transportation infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, standards and contract documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic construction management systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspection of transportation construction projects: highways, bridges, transit facilities, utilities, traffic control, ADA improvements.
• Verify contractor compliance with project plans, permits, environmental requirements and agency standards.
• Inspect and document construction activities including earthwork, paving, drainage, structures, lighting, and utility installations.
• Review contractor schedules, work plans, material submittals, and testing results.
• Monitor quantities for pay estimates and progress payments.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, labs, utilities and agency representatives.
• Maintain detailed daily reports, diaries, photos, and field records.
• Identify non-conforming work and assist in issue resolution.
• Conduct field measurements and verify staking and layout.
• Attend progress and pre-construction meetings; support change orders and project closeout.
