Kimley-Horn in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Civil Designer with 8+ years of experience to join the Transportation team. You will lead drafting standards, develop precise drawings, and ensure quality across transport projects.

You will mentor CAD staff, coordinate design tasks, and collaborate with engineers to deliver well-coordinated projects. Salary ranges from $90,000 to $130,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of civil drafting/design experience, preferably in transportation.
• Associate’s degree preferred in Drafting, Civil Technology, or related field.
• Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D (preferred) or Bentley platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and management of drafting and plan preparation standards across transportation projects.
• Develop detailed and accurate technical drawings and plans, including geometric alignments and profiles, surface modeling, and earthwork quantities.
• Review and perform quality checks on complex drawing packages with minimal supervision.
• Mentor, train, and supervise CAD staff to ensure technical growth and standardization.
• Coordinate drafting and design tasks to meet deadlines and ensure quality control.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to support accurate project delivery.
• Gain and apply knowledge of Kimley-Horn's drafting practices and standards.
