Job summary

PG&E seeks a senior leader to guide Transmission & Substation teams responsible for maintaining and building the electric transmission system. You will ensure safe, reliable service while complying with regulations and managing budgets.

The role requires extensive leadership in electric transmission, travel across the service territory, and on-call availability for emergencies. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ten years of electric utility industry experience.
• Five years of experience in electric transmission.
• Seven years of leadership experience.
• Ability to travel throughout the service territory.
• On-call availability may be required in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains and constructs the electric system per regulatory requirements.
• Manages large capital and operating budgets to achieve plan targets.
• Identifies and implements practices to improve productivity and reliability.
• Communicates safety issues under high pressure and ensures compliance.
• Manages staff through recruitment, training, performance management and recognition.
• Assesses field situations and provides practical solutions; mentors staff.
• Oversees Asset Strategy group for the area of Electric Operations.
• Ensures timely, budget-conscious work with safety and quality standards.
• Supports emergency response efforts and coordinates with agencies.
• Collaborates with unions and departments to improve results.
