Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electric Transmission Siting Lead to manage complex siting projects, oversee routing, permitting, and stakeholder engagement, and mentor junior staff. You will coordinate across environmental, engineering, GIS, real estate, and regulatory teams to deliver siting studies and project plans.

The role requires senior leadership, strong client communication, and periodic travel for site visits and agency consultations within Jacobs’ power and grid practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, environmental science, engineering, natural resources, real estate, public policy, or related discipline (advanced degree or professional certification preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in electric transmission siting, utility infrastructure, environmental planning, permitting, or related work
• Demonstrated leadership of complex transmission or linear-infrastructure siting projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Advanced experience with GIS, transmission routing, permitting strategy, regulatory filings, budget/schedule management, and client relationship management.
• Established ability to communicate effectively with utility executives, regulatory agencies, communities, landowners, and technical specialists.
• Willingness to travel periodically for site visits, agency consultations, and public hearings

Responsibilities

• Lead complex transmission-line, substation, and infrastructure siting assignments involving high-risk or multi-jurisdictional issues.
• Serve as a senior advisor to utility clients and project leadership on routing, permitting, regulatory, property, stakeholder, and constructability considerations.
• Guide agency strategy, public engagement, and responses to critical project risks.
• Resolve complex technical, agency, and stakeholder conflicts, determining when strategic adjustments or escalations are required.
• Support proposal development, client relationship management, business development, and industry forum presentations
