Stantec is seeking a Transmission & Distribution Routing and Siting Project Manager to provide strategic leadership for Environmental Services in the Mountain Region, spanning 11 states. You will guide routing studies, permitting strategies, and project delivery for utility clients and transmission developers, leveraging geospatial and digital tools to advance technical excellence.

Based in or eligible for one of several Western locations (AZ, CO, NM, UT, NV, ID), this senior role emphasizes

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience leading complex utility or energy projects.
Strong business development and client relationship skills.
Deep understanding of transmission development, environmental constraints, permitting, and regulatory processes.
Experience supporting high‑voltage transmission projects.
Expertise in geospatial technologies and digital solutions for infrastructure planning.
Experience leading national programs or multidisciplinary teams.
Professional certification or registration relevant to the discipline.
Strategic thinker with ability to influence large programs.
Passion for innovation in routing and siting practices.
Good driving record and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Lead and advance regional transmission routing and siting projects.
Provide strategic direction for methodologies, standards, and delivery approaches.
Serve as a senior technical resource on routing studies and permitting strategies.
Collaborate with regional and national leaders to support program growth.
Support major proposals for transmission developers and utilities.
Develop and strengthen relationships with utility clients.
Identify market opportunities and contribute to revenue growth.
Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering routing, siting, environmental planning, licensing, and regulatory support.
Manage complex transmission projects including high‑voltage systems.
Mentor staff and guide professionals across the region.
Champion GIS and digital tools in routing and siting.
Partner with geospatial and digital teams to develop workflows and data-driven solutions.
Advance route optimization and scenario modeling.
Contribute to differentiated client outcomes and project efficiency.
Participate in workforce planning, recruiting, and capability development.
Foster cross‑regional collaboration.
