Job summary

EEPLUS seeks a qualified transmission planning engineer to support interconnection studies and planning analyses for renewable, storage, and emerging technologies. This role focuses on ensuring reliable integration of new assets into regional grids.

You will collaborate with utility clients across ERCOT and other ISO/RTO markets, employing tools like PSS/e, PSCAD-EMTDC, and Python/R to advance grid-code compliance and large-load integration.

Qualifications

• Masters or Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering (power systems or related field).
• 1–2 years of experience in power system planning, system modeling and grid code compliance studies or related field is preferred.
• Working knowledge of PSS/e, PSCAD-EMTDC, PowerWorld Simulator, ETAP, TSAT and ASPEN Oneliner is preferred.
• Working knowledge or prior experience of scripting languages such as R, Python preferred for this position.
• Good communication, team player and collaboration skills are preferred for this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive transmission planning studies including interconnection studies for renewable, storage and emerging technologies.
• Identify new transmission solutions to reliably integrate proposed technology into the grid per region criteria.
• Assist EEPLUS team with transmission origination, evaluation and recommendations for utility clients.
• Support grid integration of large loads across ERCOT and other ISO/RTO markets.
• Conduct advanced power system studies (harmonic analysis, TOV, SSR, VRT, ramp rate, flicker, insulation coordination).
• Research data science and AI applications to power system planning and EEPlus PowerAI platform.
