Job summary

Xcel Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior/Principal Transmission Line Engineer to lead and oversee medium to large-scale projects. You’ll apply advanced engineering principles, coordinate across teams, and act as the primary technical contact for bid processes and project specifications.

The role requires extensive experience in transmission line design, field oversight, and reporting. Strong mentoring, budgeting, and vendor coordination skills are essential in this hybrid role based in the United

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited curriculum
5+ years of engineering experience with EIT/FE; 7+ years without EIT/FE
Preferred PE registration depending on business need
Principal Engineer: 9+ years with PE; 15+ years without PE
Proficient in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE
Experience with conductor vibration software
Experience with MFAD
Experience with transmission line construction

Responsibilities

Lead projects of moderate to large size or portions of major projects.
Serve as the prime technical contact on projects and coordinate with internal and external teams.
Provide field engineering oversight, testing, installation, inspections, and commissioning.
Lead budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and work order management in engineering projects.
Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to technical documentation and standards.
